ABOUT
Brian Scalini is an Italian freelance artist and choreographer based in Dresden, Germany.
His artistic path has taken him across Europe, creating works for renowned institutions such as Oper Graz, Ballet Schwerin, Theater Pforzheim, Companhia de Dança de Almada, Delattre Dance Company, Tanz Akademie Zürich, and the Palucca University of Dance Dresden.
His creations have been presented at international festivals and venues including MASDANZA, Machol Shalem Dance House (Israel), Dferia, Hong Kong International Dance Festival, Istanbul Fringe Festival, and Bauhaus Fest – Bauhaus Museum Dessau, among others.

Brian’s education reflects a deep curiosity for both movement and design.
He studied ballroom dance for ten years before beginning his professional training in ballet and contemporary dance at Dance Studio Faenza, the Italian academy directed by Luna Ronchi.
In 2016, he earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Product Design from the University of Bologna, an experience that enriched his artistic sensibility and continues to inform his choreographic vision. In 2022, he completed a Master of Arts in Choreography at the Palucca University of Dance Dresden, where he deepened his understanding of composition and artistic research.

His professional path as a dancer began with Tanzcompagnie Landesbühnen Sachsen, followed by freelance engagements with Semperoper Dresden, Staatsschauspiel Dresden, and 4roomsCompany. In 2018, Brian discovered choreography as a medium through which he could merge movement and design into a single creative language.

In 2023, he was awarded First Prize at the 22nd Certamen Internacional de Coreografía Burgos y Nueva York for his work “Meet you in the navel.”
