MEET YOU IN THE NAVEL

IN WHAT PART OF THE BODY SHOULD WE MEET?

People usually designate geographical places as meeting points with other human beings. What if this encounter would happen in our bodies instead? What if we could say: “In what part of the body should we meet?”

From this idea of body parts that connect, communicate, and emotionally touch, I developed my creation “Meet you in the navel”, a short story of romanticism and addiction.

In the specific spot where the connection happens, a bond is created, leaving a trace, a magnet able to re-attract and re-activate that moment over and over. People would have the reassurance of being always close to someone and never alone, but with the risk of getting stuck in a past that ties them to one another like a string that clings and get stronger in its dependency.
